GREAT vid jon!
What did you use to capture the vid? I'm thinking of the flip (thoughts??)... what do you recommend?

Good lift Greg! You could've pulled more!

John,

The flip?

We use a Canon HV20, Sennheiser microphones, Final Cut Studio 2, and a paucity of talent.

Best,

Jon

Jon,
I am having a hardtime concentrating on my deadlift. All I can think about is paucity. Why did you have to confuse me so much?

Dave,

Perhaps Again Faster is a little too advanced for your current level of athleticism. Might I suggest four-square, or perhaps a nice game of hopscotch?

Love you, buddy.

Best,

Jon

Does paucity mean I have a really big gut?

(Excellent video, Jon. Thanks for making this available.)

Paucity (noun): 1. the inability to use a dictionary, 2. the presence of something only in small or insufficient quantities or amounts, scarcity: a paucity of vocabulary

been DL'ing for a year, recently went to a CF gym where I was informed to drop the weight at the top. It certainly makes me able to lift more and I can appreciate avoiding the "more dangerous "part of lowering. I am an otherwise full range of motion all the time kinda guy. What are your thoughts?
Thanks for the videos , they are great.

Thomas,

It isn't dangerous to put a deadlift down, assuming good form (tight back, proper torso angle, etc.) is followed. I'm interested to hear how they do multiple reps at the gym you're referring to. Drop and catch?

I've seen this trend across CrossFit, and I roundly disapprove.

Best,

Jon

Wonderful videos!! Thank you so much...

(and dropping the DL at the top doesn't count... at least not for the CFT! Silly rabbits.)

correction, it seems my form was lacking on descent so he had me drop it, and go back down in weight and lower correctly. Your videos are appreciated.

Jon,

I've been thinking of set-ups for making instructional videos of my own -- your vids are great examples and inspiration. Great coaching and amazing work! Thank you.

All the best,

Christopher

Jon, just got bac on to check other vids and while the paucity of talent (mainly the speaker cause the athletes ROCK - but then again... I am the guy lying on the sidewalk) is improving... JK - You're awesome bro! Never ceases to amaze me!

Back to comment - dropping the deadlift... you're right. It should be frowned upon. Thomas - he was smart to make you drop it then, but Jon's right, it's becoming very common and shouldn't be.

Just adding my .02 worth

Great work to you, EC and the rest of the crew!
